Best of Show - WRE's E3 2001 Awards
 The runners up...
 Categories
Sigma
In the end, Sigma makes the runner-up list for Best of Show for two years running due to its incredibly daring new style of gameplay. With an almost limitless army of mutant creatures, the only thing holding you back is your imagination. There's a definite rush when you see something you've never seen crossing the hill toward your camp and you experience a slight panic, wondering how you're ever going to stop it. The single player story is a strong one, but imagine the fun you'll have in multiplayer mode. From the look of things, Relic is living up to all the expectations. It's safe to say that Homeworld was just the beginning for this talented team of developers.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
World War II was a running theme at this year's show, with at least a half-dozen titles that focused on the conflict. But the clear victor among them all was MoH. We've all had our eyes locked on Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the past 18 months or so, but after 10 minutes with MoH, we'd forgotten all about the update to that classic game. The abject terror of selected scenes (such as the landing at Omaha Beach), mixed with the superbly scripted dialogue and sharp graphics destine this game to be one of the most exciting action titles of the year. From the hell of war comes gaming heaven.
